Christmas Day!

Christmas for me was simply a quiet day with family. Being together and having a lovely time with the people I love most. We had a Christmas dinner of turkey in Monte's BSC and headed downstairs to La Bodega for after drinks with friends.

A wonderful fun 'hyper' day for Timothy. Opened his many presents. Played with his new toys that only kept him occupied for the day la.

I hope your Christmas day turned out as fun and great too. *wink*

BBQ

The other day, my in-laws had a BBQ party at their house for they had some guest over from Melbourne. I think having an out-door BBQ party is always fun as it's a great way to entertain friends- it's relaxed and informal.

My in-laws are famous for their BBQ parties among their friends. Basically, a meat lover would not want to miss out on their BBQs. Plenty of meat- Beef, lamb, pork chop, foot long pork sausages and etc etc etc. Plenty to eat and drink.

Since I'm a no red meat eater or a big fan of meat. I just had the BBQ tigers prawns specially grilled by hubby, some salad and a couple glasses of Chardonay. *wink*

Hubby behind the griller. Luckily all the food were edible. hehehe.

Being a good big brother. Taking care of his lil friend Chilly.

After the party, Timothy all washed up and getting ready to head home. Picture together with Candice cheh cheh.

Power Rangers

The Power Rangers Mystic Force *click here* were in town. Brought Timothy to catch the live show in Sungai Wang KL. The last place I'm not eager to go. Parking is impossible on weekends plus with the school holidays now. The crowd was massively horrible. Hubby was brilliant enough to valet park opposite at Park Royal Hotel to avoid the queue leading to the car park. We just had to walk a short distance across the mall.

Anyway, back to the topic, my 5 year old boy is a die-hard fan of the Power Rangers so we had to bring him to see the show not once but twice in 2 weekends. We have no regrets as he enjoyed the show so much till he was talking about it day and night. The pictures he took with the Rangers, it's always by his side and admired by him every minute.

Becoz of Timothy's influences, I'm quite knowledgeable on the characters and their roles as well. I guess that's part of the deal when having a boy, huh!!?? *wink*

Group Shot with the Mystic Force Rangers. Timothy asked to hold the Red Ranger's sword and when he nodded and allowed him, he was over the moon . Sorry! The pic is not very clear coz it's a re-snap from a photograph.

On the next following weekend, Timothy met his classmate Zachary in his full suit. He was so happy to bum into his best friend from school.

Amongst the crowd and enjoying the show.

Timothy's Monthly Hair Cut

Looking at Timothy in the hair salon, Daddy commented that Timothy was gonna catch up to be as vain as mummy. Well, I don't think so coz nobody can beat me la. Muaha..ha...ha!

However, Timothy is very particular about his hair. As I mentioned before, he only allows Uncle Andy to trim his 'crowning glory'. He prefers certain ways on how his hair is handled, washed, combed, trimmed, styled and it seems no one beats Uncle Andy. He is the best as Timothy proudly claimed. *eyes roll up*

Uncle Andy never fails to disappoint him. *wink*

A shield to protect his face. Always extra special attention given to Timothy. Uncle Andy is so good to him. Always very patient and warm. Partly, I think he has watched Timothy grown and handled him from lil newborn till now.

Instructing Uncle Andy on how he wants his hair gel-up. His all time favourite. The spiky look!! Nobody is allow to touch or mess up his do or he'll get very mad. When mummy hugged him, he stretched his head far far away from me. Every few seconds, he will gently feel his hair to make sure it's still in perfect place. hahaha.

Trip Back North.

To summarise my recent trip to SP & Pen, here is a photo-blog for your viewing pleasure. Timothy had a fun 2 weeks. Spending quality time with his MaMa, Soo Theng Ee Ee *click here* and of coz with his cousin Jordon.

He was reluctant to go back KL and insisted that he wanna extend his stay for another week. Daddy did not allowed it as he missed him tremendously already. 2 weeks without us including the maid, he was a 'Mr. Lonely' at home. hahahaha.

I guess my next trip back north again will be on CNY.

My sis Theng, my cute nephew Jordon and my Mum at Old Town Cafe Penang. I do agree the white coffee is very tasty!

Having a delicious noodle meal for lunch. The kids extremely love MaMa's simple home cooked meals. They devoured the whole bowl. "Thanks MaMa. So Delicious!"

With my brother in-law Jimmy & my sis Theng in SP club karaoke. They served the best chill beer ever. Cheers! Wished my 2nd sis Jeannie could be with us la. *wink*

Timothy's favourite time of the day. Taking a bath in the 'chui ti'. MaMa spoiled him rotten as to allow him to dip in the water basin usually still attached in most old fashion bathroom. When I scooped water out to bathe, it brought back nostalgic memories when I was a lil gal in SP. My childhood days were so simple back then compare to Timothy's now.

Old fashion home style BBQ pit. Timothy grilling his own sausages. Such a good boy helping mummy out. But for a lil while only la. After that, he 'cabut' as he complained about the heat and smoke. *shake head*

A game of soccer at a nearby 'padang' (field) . The 2 boys were naturals. The weather was perfect for an outdoor activity. Windy but yet sunny that late afternoon. I just love the simple laid back life style in SP where young kids usually hang out at the 'padang' playing sports every evening.

Check out the David Beckam's kick!

Best of team mates. How I wish Jordon is residing in KL. It would be so wonderful to have him nearby all the time. *smile*

Swimming at the pool in my sister's condo in Tanjung Bungah Penang. Nothing beats a nice cool dip on a hot day. Well, I gotto find activities to occupy the boys. Or else when bored, they will find faults and irritates one another. From best of cousin to enemies in a split second. Ha!

Having a go on the slide in Adventure Zone Golden Sand Hotel Penang. Took the 2 boys for a day of fun in the indoor playground. The slides were awesome!

Brave lil Jordon on the free fall slide. He is such a dare devil for a 7 year old boy. I, myself dare not even go close to it. hahaha. What a steep fall!

A strong punch on the big bad shark's tummy! Timothy liked the drawing on the wall so much till he insisted he wants his room wall to be painted exactly. Crazy ah!!!

Watching a Looney Tunes Show in Gurney Plaza Mall Penang. After 5 mins, the two boys had enough and wanted to leave coz they said it was boring as the show is for lil babies and they are big boys already. Like real!!! hahaha. But I find the show very entertaining wor.

Amazing Race Asia 2

Ann Tan & Diane Douglas. Desperate Housewives of M'sia.

I'm so proud and full of praises for my ex-schoolmate, Diane (The Desperate Housewives Team) who participated in the Amazing Race Asia 2. She invited me to attend the opening of the show party organised by Standard Chartered and Caltex in Velvet Underground, KL few weeks ago.

We had a blast as we watched the very 1st episode on the big screen together. Perhaps it was the crowd that was cheering and the upbeat atmosphere that made it even more exciting and nail biting. For a mother of 2, I'm truly amazed by her bravery, capabilities and her full of energy/bubbly personality. Still the same old Diane from schooling days. *smile*

I reckon the Desperate Housewives team will be in the top 5 finalist. I shall be rooting for them all the way. *wink*

AMAZING RACE ASIA 2. Watch it exclusively on AXN. Every Thursday. 9pm.

Baby Shower in Bijou.

Mummy to-be, Christina and Me.

I attended yet another baby shower of my friend, Christina. Lucky her, she is expecting a baby gal and everything was decorated in pink at Bijou *click here* Mont Kiara, KL. Check it out. It's a cool trendy place catered for everyone and very baby/children friendly as well. It has a good selection of nutritious homemade children menu that are guaranteed msg free.

Everything was superbly organised from the finger food, sparkling champagne to the decor. I love the specially made cupcakes that have lil babies wrap up on it. So 'sayang' to eat la.

I had a fun time with friends. Just simply love attending baby showers. I've never declined an invitation so far. Baby shower always triggers the happy jolly mood in me.

Wishing my dear friend, Christina a safe delivery and can't wait to see the lil bundle of joy soon.

The "too good to eat" adorable cupcakes.

Traditional Cuban Doll. A lil gift from my in-laws. I love it!!

Hello Everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates.

Been pretty busy as it's the school holidays now. Brought Timothy to Penang and Sg. Petani (my hometown) for the past 2 weeks. Indulged in some quality time with mum and family back home.

As I have mentioned before, my mum's house does not have an internet connection so I took a lil blog break. *wink*

Peter Pan

Peter Pan The Musical is in town. Timothy was so hyped up about it for the past whole week. After watching it. Yes, Timothy & I were wowed by the musical now showing in Istana Budaya, KL. *thumbs up*

My mum purposely came down from Sungai Petani for this and my eldest sister, Soo Nie brought her 2 kids along as well.

A lot of people think that Peter Pan is a story for kids. True, but the stage version was quite an epic version of the story and one that adults love as well. It appeals to both children and adults. A spectacular cast and production. The stunning flying effects were amazing!

Since it's a musical for kids so it was always entertaining. Never a dull moment and Timothy was thrilled when he saw Peter Pan flying. Captain Hook was also one of his favourite character.

The best part was when Peter Pan came flying above us and sprinkled colourful sparkling fairy dust. For the finale, the whole auditorium were covered with bubbles. Magnificient!! Timothy was so impressed.

In the midst of the musical:-

Timothy: "Mummy!! Peter Pan is a real boy?? Why can he fly??? I want the fairy dust!"

Mummy: "He can't fly. There are 2 tiny thin ropes hanging on his back. Look carefully." *pointing*

Timothy: *pause and looking hard* "YA......I CAN SEE...I CAN SEE! THERE...THERE! HE IS JUST PRETENDING TO FLY." *shouting and gigling excitedly*

Mummy: "Shhh...shhhhhhh. Not so loud, darling." *embarass* *eyes roll up*

My five year old truly amazes me sometimes. hahaha.

Thanks to a friend of mine who made this musical possible for this photo opportunity with the character Peter Pan, Ryutaro Yanagita.

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Gala Dinner

This year, Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Gala Dinner was held last week at the Grand Ballroom, Hilton KL. I supported and contributed on the campaign by sponsoring a table for 10 at the dinner event.

To fill up the table, I invited my mum, sis and a few friends to join me. It was definitely a gals nite out for a good cause. Highlights of the nite were performances from Jaclyn Victor, Vince Chong and Fashion shows from 5 top Malaysian designers. Dinner was a 4-course western set and attractive door gifts for everyone.

Proceeds for that nite were channelled to support the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) and go towards providing free or subsidised mammogram screening through the College of Radiology Malaysia and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM).

Cameron Highlands

'Way Foong' Bungalow.

The last time I went to Cameron Highlands was exactly 7 years ago. When hubby and I were in our courting days. *smile*

Last week, we decided to spend a 3 days 2 nites stay as it's also Timothy 1st trip. Since the new road from Simpang Pulai has been opened, it was not as windy as the old road before. So the journey up was quite alrite. Luckily, Timothy & I didn't experienced any major car sickness.

Located high up in Tanah Rata, we stayed at an old lil colonial bungalow owned by HSBC. My brother in-law, Nick is attached to the bank. Therefore, we're able to have this opportunity.

The bungalow is called The 'Way Foong.' A 1930's one storey building that consists of 3 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a living room with a fire place, a dining room, a kitchen and a lil beautiful garden at the back. It's manage by caretakers, a lovely old couple. Not only do they keep the place prim and proper but both are excellent cooks as well. They can cook up a storm. From breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner.

I had such a relaxing time. Reading. Playing card games. Going for walks with my son. 'Makan makan.' Drinking good wines. And just spending quality time with my family.

Breathtaking view of the tea plantation.

Sheena & Raja's Wedding

The Beautiful Bride & Groom, Sheena & Raja.

I was very looking forward to this wedding dinner of beautiful couple, Sheena & Raja. It was held in Saloma Theater & Bistro, KL. What a grand wedding it was!

As you can see, I showed up for the occasion in a saree. I've always wanted to own one but never got to it. I set my eyes on this beautiful green soft material with gold trimming. Specially custom made a 'choli' to fit the whole ensemble.

Well, I can tell you this for sure, it's definitely not an easy peasy task wearing a saree. The intricate wrapping. Folding. Not as easy as it looks. Going to the toilet was also a bit of problem for me. Errr..... I sort of had a lil trouble la. hahaha. As always, for vanity sake I totally didn't mind the hassle and inconvenience. Typical me lor!!!

But anyway, I think it was well worth the trouble as I felt like a million bucks in it. Hubby also complimented me and said he got an indian wife for the nite. *wink wink*
