The Year of Rat 2008

CNY cupcakes for family reunion dinner.

CNY is over. 2 weeks just went by like a snap of a finger.

I must say that CNY is indeed a time of the year when families and relatives come together. Having a swell time and truly celebrate this wonderful yearly occasion. Plus, indulging in plenty of good food. Seriously, my weighing scale is not my best friend right now. *laugh*

And of coz through out the CNY, Timothy was really happy receiving lotsa angpows!!! His eyes just lighted up when a red packet is handed to him. Really a $$$ face boy, you know?!. Don't know like who la?! hehehe. *cunning grin*

Well, Timothy and I rehearsed before the CNY . When someone gives an angpow. Politely look at the person and say clearly 'Gong Xi Fa Cai' and 'Thank You'.

He repeated "Gong Xiii Fay Choy" and so forth like a good boy.

But when the actual moment came. He uttered the whole exact sentence perfectly and after that said out loud.

"How much is inside ah, mummy??" while trying to tear open his angpow to find out. Really cialat!!! hahahaha. The innocence of my 5+ year old boy.

After doing the 'lou sang' for many times. I bet Timothy would be a lucky and prosperous boy, huh!!!... hahaha.

A tradition continued on hubby's family side where they kneel to 'cham cha' (give tea) to his parents on CNY. Timothy sure looked like a fillial lil grandson. *wink*

Hubby's Birthday

There's so much to update! So many happenings and celebrations during the festive season. I shall start off with hubby's birthday on the 5th Feb before the CNY.

I had a lil do for him at the golf club KGNS. Invited all his 'heng tais' for dinner in the chinese restaurant after their game of golf. We occuppied 2 tables and had 'lou sang' together as well.

The highlight of the nite was when the surprise birthday cake was brought out. I wanna have a sense of humour about life and of the party. Therefore, I had arranged for a naughty cake. On it a gal with big boobs. Hubby liked it alot and was laughing his heads off when friends cheered him to lick the 'you know where la' after he blew his candles. (Sorry, can't post that pix up as it's quite x-rated) hahaha.

And as for my lil boy, he was also very amazed by the cake and can't keep his hands off the 'nen nen'. So very 'hamsap'. He insisted he wanna eat that particular part which daddy cut it off and pop it in his mouth. *laugh*

What a fun nite! I was very glad hubby had a good time with his friends.

The naughty birthday cake. Hubby and Timothy tried to lift the skirt up but were disappointed to see nothing underneath. My 2 silly boys!!! hahaha.

Valentine's Day

Hubby and I would rather not celebrate Valentine's day at all if Timothy can't be with us. How can we leave our lil boy behind and celebrate it by ourselves??!!!! It doesn't feel right!!

We took Timothy along for a candle light dinner eventhough next day was a school day. We decided it would be alrite to allow him to sleep past his bedtime that day. (Timothy sleeps by 8.30pm everyday except weekends) Anyway, the nite didn't end late. The next morning, he rised up as usual for school.

We had a lovely dinner nearby in Decanter Restaurant. I noticed Timothy was the only kid there as only couples/lovebirds were seen dining. My boy had his 1st Valentine's dinner with mummy and daddy. Excited and proud to be with us. One day, he would not feel the same way. He won't want to spend it with his old folks anymore but instead with his special someone. Sigh! I dread for that day to come. Ha!

My lil Valentine giving mummy a kiss. I love this shot!! So sweet rite??!!!

Birthday Dinner.

The other day, we had a lil birthday celebration for a good friend of mine at Villa Danieli, Sheraton Imperial Hotel, KL. Again, as always when everytime I set foot in Sheraton, it brings back sweet memories of my wedding day as it was held there many years ago. The Italian Restaurant is one of my favorites for hubby and I have celebrated couple of our anniversaries and occasions there.

It appears that the menu in Villa Danieli has since changed and I'm glad it still hold the same standards as always - very delicious, tasty and authentic. Highly recommended! Plus, I simply love the old rustic cosy Italian cottage atmosphere and feel. It sets the perfect mood!!!

Such a wonderful night dining and wining with hubby and close friends. After having a scrumptous dinner, we hopped over to Heritage Mansion and enjoyed the rest of the night away with a bottle of birthday gal's favourite bubbly, Don Perignon. Cheers! It was all so lovely. We had such a good time.

Birthday Gal, Ai Ling and happy moi.

I Love Reading!

I wanna prepare Timothy well ahead for his Year 1 in Sri KDU next year. No doubt he's in a good kindergarden now but seeing the standard of work they do, though I think is not up to my standards.

Timothy has a tutor who comes to the house twice a week to concentrate on his maths and mandarin. (which I think is very important as hubby and I are illiterate in that particular language) I also send Timothy to a reading class every twice a week as to cultivate him to have the interest for reading. And since then, he has improved dramatically and getting better by the day.His schedule is basically full on the weekdays.

Well, I'm not that 'kiasu' until there is all work and no play for my lil boy. He has his golf and swimming lesson on the weekends which he very much look forward - Lots of play time with his play group too. Try to well balance everything. I have since stopped his art class for I think it's not his priority right now. He can anytime resume his lil talent of his when time permits.

So far so good, he has not shown any sign of reluctance or complain about any of his extra curriculum activitivies that I've arranged. Being an only child, he's often bored and enjoyed all sort of activities together with his lil friends otherwise he would be so restless at home. In truth, all I want is Timothy to be happy and have fun through learning. Mummy knows best and want the best for his lil darling boy. *wink*

Video clips of Timothy doing his reading. He is currently reading 4 different books every week from Oxford Reading Tree.
